Senior Managing Partner

Rob Milner

Rob Milner has spent more than 25 years building the sales leadership benches of some of North America's most demanding technology and risk-management companies. As Founder and Senior Managing Partner of NES Group, he has led the firm since 1997, when he stepped away from a decade-long sales leadership career at Dun & Bradstreet to build a search practice around a specific bet: that generalist recruiting firms can't credibly evaluate talent for highly technical, highly regulated selling environments — and that clients deserve a partner who understands the product, the buyer, and the sales motion, not just the résumé.

That bet came from experience. Before founding NES, Rob spent nine years at Dun & Bradstreet as an Area Sales Leader, running teams of up to 30 people and earning repeated recognition for quota overachievement and revenue growth. Having carried a number himself — and hired, coached, and managed sales teams from the inside — he built NES around a simple conviction: you can't effectively recruit sales leaders unless you've been one.

Nearly three decades later, NES Group is a boutique executive search firm focused on the Enterprise Risk Management, Fraud, and Decision Analytics markets — the sales talent behind the data, AI, and SaaS companies solving financial crime, fraud, identity, and credit risk challenges. Rob and his team work primarily at the senior end of go-to-market organizations: CRO and VP/SVP/RVP-level sales leaders, strategic hunters, channel and partner development executives, enterprise account managers, and presales engineering leadership — for clients ranging from Fortune 500–1000 corporations to early- and late-stage fintechs across the U.S. and Canada.

Rob's searches are built for speed without sacrificing fit, designed to compress a client's time-to-revenue while still consistently delivering candidates who meet the substantial majority of what the role actually requires — an approach that's built NES's client base largely on repeat business and referral.

Rob holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Virginia Commonwealth University. He lives in Easton, Maryland, with his wife; the two have three adult children, all University of Maryland graduates, and spend time with their grandchildren. Outside of work, Rob can usually be found on a golf course or otherwise staying active outdoors.

Our
Story

Who We Are

For over 26 years, NES Group has placed sales and sales-leadership talent for companies building in Enterprise Risk Management, Marketing Technology, and Conversational and Generative AI. We've completed more than 800 executive-level searches, with an average time-to-refer of just 13 days and placements that stay an average of four years. We map the talent pool before a search starts, rather than sourcing broadly and hoping the right person surfaces.
